Who Moved My Cheese?
Spencer Johnson, M.D. 

A must-read for anybody.  This book is written as a fable.  It is an easy read, and everyone who reads it can see themselves in it.
Since change is and will continue to be a major part of our lives, we
need to have the wisdom from the pages of this book to help us better navigate.



Wherever You Go There You Are
Jon Kabat-Zinn 

I love this title.  It helps to convey a message that so many people need to get.  It resolves the mystery of wondering whether the grass really is greener on the other side.

Unlimited Power
Anthony Robbins 

Tony Robbins has some great ideas on how to live your life in a very powerful way.  Tony's passion for life come's through in "Unlimited Power". 

Tuesdays With Morrie
Mitch Albom 

This book is filled with valuable Wisdom for Life.  Seen through the eyes and soul of a man in his final days, we can learn so much from Morrie's unique perspective.

Think and Grow Rich
Napoleon Hill 

This is the first book I ever read on the world of Motivation.  I believe I read it back in 1964.  The ideas in this book are timeless.  One hundred years from now, this book's ideas and strategies for having a great life will still apply.  Read it.

The Road Less Travelled
M. Scott Peck, M.D. 

One of the most important aspects of our life--"Relationships", is something that most people never really learned about other than through good old-fashioned trial and error.  This book is basically "Relationships 101.  A must read for anyone and everyone.  I have found this book to be a very valuable book which has helped me immensely over the years in my relationships.

The Power Of Focus
Jack Canfield, Mark Victor Hansen 

A book filled with strategies for personal growth and success.  Unfortunately, one problem most people have is the discipline to FOCUS on what is important.  This book gives people the understanding of how to focus on the things that matter most.
If you are ready for a major shift in your progress in life, you will want to get and read this book NOW.



The Other 90%
Robert K. Cooper 

If you don't believe you are AMAZING, read this book.  Robert Cooper has done a tremendous amount of research on how absolutely capable and amazing people are.  Most people's understanding of their capability is so understated.  Go ahead, read this book and marvel at all that you still CAN BECOME!

The Monk Who Sold His Ferrari
Robin Sharma 

Weird title--Great Book.  Robin Sharma's inspiring tale shows us a step-by-step pathway for living with greater courage, balance, abundance and joy. 

The Measure Of Our Success
Marian Wright Edelman 

What could be more powerful than our ability to "Parent"?  This is a subject that most of us parents have very little knowledge in.  Marian Wright Edelman has a very down-to-earth approach to giving us tips on how to raise a child and feel like we have made a difference.

The Magic of Believing
Claude Bristol 

When Henry Ford said, "Whether you think you can or think you can't, you are always right", he was summarizing the essence of Claude Bristol's book. 

The Little Engine That Could
Watty Piper 

The courage to never give up and believe in ourselves is conveyed in this children's book.  The message is relevant to us all.

No matter who you are, no matter what you do for a living-this book is a must-read.  Simple ideas that can make a significant difference in how you go through life.  Stephen Covey has a grasp on some amazing life's wisdom that anyone can benefit from.

Take The Wheels Off Your Worry Bus
Sharron Orovan-Johnston 

The author of this new book is a good friend of mine who I have worked with for the past 12 years on the First Canadian Humour Conference in Hamilton.  Sharron is an RN and assistant professor in the department of psychiatry and neuroscience at McMaster University.  Her book is an easy guide to improve communication, reduce worry, perfectionism, procrastination, simplify your life, and relax through humour.

Slowing Down to the Speed of Life
Richard Carlson 

If ever you feel you have no control over what is happening in your life--read this book.  Sometimes we need to renew our understanding about how much choice we really have through the way we think.
This book gave me an incredible breakthrough in understanding some of life's oh-so valuable lessons.

Lance Secretan

The power of values and how it affects us in our leadership roles is very well explained by Stephen Covey.

Bernie Siegel, M.D. 

Dr. Bernie Siegel is one "Amazing" human being.  He is living proof of one of my "Boblosophies"- "It's not WHAT you do it's HOW you do it.
This book is for everyone.  It's good down-to-earth wisdom about life and is helps us to see the value of our problems and frustrations in life.



Orbiting The Giant Hairball
Gordon MacKenzie 

I LOVE this book.  If you ever needed more confidence in your pursuit of not being NORMAL...this will do it for you.  The author, Gordon MacKenzie talks about his experiences of effectively avoiding being caught in the corporate "stuff" and holding on to his own uniqueness.  This is an inspiring read about hanging on to being yourself.  Read it.  You'll be glad you did.

 



Oh, The Places You'll Go
Dr. Suess 

If you ever want a great gift for someone who is graduating from,elementary school, high school, college, university or any other school, buy this book, read it and hand write a meaningful message to the recipient on the inside of the cover.  They will cherish it and remember you for it for a long time.

Never Hitchhike on the Road Less Travelled
William Thomas 

William Thomas is a very funny man.  I have known this author personally for many years.  He has a very different slant on everything in life.  He makes you really laugh at the simplest little things.  William Thomas is crazy, and I thank him for sharing this with the rest of us. This is just one of his books--you may also wish to check out, "Hey is that guy dead, or is he the skip?".



Men Are From Mars, Women Are From Venus
John Gray 

It's amazing how we get so far in life without the knowledge of what relationships are all about.  If you want to know how you and your opposite sex functions mentally and emotionally, you will find out a lot by reading this book.

Man's Search For Meaning
Victor Frankl 

Powerul, timeless, inspiring wisdom.  The story of the experiences of a man who has been to the absolute bottom of the emotional scale and came back to let us know that no matter what happens to us we ALWAYS HAVE CHOICES.  I highly recommend this book to anyone.  If ever you think you are having a major problem to deal with--read this book.  It will inspire you.

Living, Loving and Learning
Leo Buscagila 

For years, Leo Buscaglia was my hero.  This man's passion for life has impacted me in many ways.  Even though he has passed on--his wisdom about life and the human spirit and the power of LOVE will always be with me.

Karaoke Capitalism
Jonas Ridderstrale and Kjell Nordstrom 

These two authors are at the forefront of the new generation of European-based business gurus. Their uncompromising and fresh take on contemporary business life makes them two of the world's most sought after speakers.  I had the opportunity of hearing Kjell Nordstrom speak at a conference in Toronto earlier this year.  This guy is brilliant. He blew me away with his insights.  A brief excerpt from their book, states:  "Stop singing the songs of the past and start writing the tunes of tomorrow.  Innovate or deteriorate.  Now, we need to decide if we are going to take part in writing the history of the future, or if we are satisfied with being by-standers looking at the future of history?  This book is a real eye-opener to what is happening around us.  A must read for anyone in business today.

Hope For The Flowers
Trina Paulas 

A story that appears to be for children is for every adult.  When I read this book over 20 years ago--it hit me like a ton of bricks.  I read this at a time in my life when I had lost sight of what was really important.  It got me back on track--real quick.



GUTS!
Kevin and Jackie Freiberg 

The subtitle to this book is, "Companies that blow the doors off business-as-usual.  It is so encouraging to read about real companies that are gusty enough to break through the traditional way of doing things in this world.  REFRESHING, and EXHILARATING are two words that come to mind from reading this book.  If you think your business is unique, take a look at some of these companies and start raising the bar for yourself and your people

There are so many solid principles contained in this book surrounding personal, career and family success.  Jim did an excellent job of providing GREAT material in a format that was fun to read.  I highly recommend this book!!

Don't Sweat the Small Stuff
Richard Carlson 

A great feature of this book is the way it is written.  You can take 3 to 5 minutes out of your day to read a chapter and learn something that you can apply immediately in your life to help you to be better at who you are.

Jack Canfield, Mark Victor Hansen 

These books tap into the soul and emotions of all of us.  They are loaded with real life stories that get us re-thinking about what is really important.  There are stories that inspire, encourage and enlighten.  If you haven't read one--you will want to.
